Introducing Mainly House Stuff

Welcome to Mainly House Stuff, I am so excited you’re here! My name is Yadira, owner and creator of Mainly House Stuff. What began as a hobby has blossomed into a lifestyle and community, and I’m so thrilled to be able to welcome you and others to join us on this journey.

I don’t want to be just another blogger behind your computer or phone screen…I want you to feel like you know me! So I think it’s important to tell you a little bit about myself. I’ve been with my husband and biggest supporter, Dylan, for 18 years. We’ve been married for almost 6 years and raising two beautiful girls, Blake and Leighton. Five years ago, I dove into the home designing world as an outlet for my anxiety.

Some people start small, but that’s not how I roll. I began flipping homes and building a list of supportive clientele. Fast forward a few years, and I finally created an Instagram account in order to begin building an online community and reach new people while social distancing and lockdowns were the norm. And now here we are!

If you keep up with Mainly House Stuff on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed neutral tones and black + white accents are my thing. I rely on these colors schemes because they do wonders for my anxiety (I can’t do patterns or colors for too long) As an added bonus, relying on neutral colors makes it 10 times easier to make changes or updates to a room when it starts to feel like change is needed – and let’s be honest, the need for constant change lives within all of us! Leveraging neutral wall colors means instead of repainting every six months, you can swap out a throw pillow or wall art and really transform the room entirely.

My main goal with Mainly House Stuff is to inspire you to create a well styled home on a budget. And honestly, isn’t that the dream? Not everybody has endless funds to splurge on the fanciest fixtures or trendiest treatments, but what you can do is rely on Mainly House Stuff for all the information and inspiration you need to tackle some of your projects on your own. I’ll walk you through my thought process and the steps I take when choosing pieces for my projects.

I’m eager to continue growing this community and creating a safe space for others to learn and grow their DIY, home decor, and interior design skills. The
Mainly House Stuff instagram and blog will feature tons of new content and resources to help you design a home you love, but I’ll also be offering a service in the coming months that allows non-local clients to have my hands-on help with their next project! Check back soon for more information.
